A Raya Camp to Remember
03 Oct 2008

prizes_rayacamp2008.jpgLittle League Soccer held another successful camp over the Hari Raya holidays.  The 50+ Raya Camp participants had great time, especially as we had Ken Shelito as a special guest coach.

In his playing days, Ken Shellito played for Chelsea FC and England.  He ended his career early because of a serious knee injury and went into coaching taking charge of Chelsea’s Youth Academy.  He later managed Chelsea in the late 70’s.

Ken was joined in this camp by ex- Little League Head Coach Bojan Hodak.  Bojan is now the coach of Malaysian Super League side UPB MyTeam.  Despite very recently celebrating the birth of his first born, Luka Jordy Hodak, Bojan spent all three days at the camp.  Bojan has been working closely with Little League’s  coaches in our off-term to keep them on their toes to deliver a superior coaching product.  We have now asked Ken Shellito to assist in the development of our coaches as well.

In the next few months we will have two competitive playing tours to Jakarta and to Bangkok.  The Jakarta tour (24 - 26 October '08) to the Ultra Milk Cup is an interesting one because we have never played in the Asian Soccer Academy’s tournament in Indonesia before, and also because they will have Manchester United’s Chief Scout for Asia present throughout the tournament.

The Bangkok tour (14 - 16 November '08) has been a highlight of Little League’s calendar for some years now.  The Can-U-Kick-It tournament is one of the best in Asia, and is always very competitive.

Ken had praise for the work we are doing at Little League Soccer.  He said he was delighted to work with us at this camp.  We look forward to seeing much more of Ken Shellito.
